One Mum, A Plan & A Bunch of Passenger Princesses

It’s like someone mashed up Finding Nemo, Blue Planet, and a marine science lesson, then threw in dolphin acrobatics and called it a day. From awe-struck kids to overpriced ice cream and a miraculous lack of tantrums, here’s what it’s really like to survive (and love) a full day at Valencia’s Oceanogràfic.

Valencia’s Oceanogràfic: Like Finding Nemo on Steroids

It’s like someone took Finding Nemo, Blue Planet, and a marine science lesson, threw in dolphin acrobatics, and said “You’re welcome.”

We spent the whole day there — and honestly needed every second.

Sharks? Check.

Penguins? Check.

Dolphins doing aerial stunts like they’re auditioning for Spain’s Got Talent? Triple check.

My kids spent a good 20 minutes just staring at one tank like they’d discovered Wi-Fi in fish form.

And me? I zoned out watching jellyfish and forgot I had responsibilities for a full minute.

There are loads of cool educational screens, interactive zones, and a few scheduled shows (the dolphin show = highlight of the day).

There are cafés and restaurants dotted around, but be warned — they will test your wallet.

Especially when your kids decide they need ice cream at every.single.stop.

Pro tip: Pack food and snacks. Or sell a kidney. Up to you.

By the end, I’d clocked 18,000 steps, three snack stops, and zero tantrums.

I repeat: zero tantrums.

A modern parenting miracle.
