Disclaimer: This is a PR review – oh yes, another one of those emails that make my week: “Would you like to come and experience our magical family event?” And just like that, my weekend planning panic was solved. I was expecting the usual farm trip – animals, muddy boots, maybe a coffee that goes cold before I can drink it – but Bluebell Dairy clearly knew royalty was coming because they rolled out the red carpet (okay, maybe straw carpet) for us.

The Morning Chaos: Operation Get Everyone in the Car
As always, my household alarm clock isn’t digital.. it’s my kids yelling, “Mummy, mummy, mummy! Can we go on an adventure?”
So I went full superhero mode: “Kids, assemble!” Snacks packed, buggy loaded, and enthusiasm levels high – at least until my youngest, M, decided he was not built for cold weather and launched a protest.
Cue the tears, dramatic flailing, and me swapping the carrier for the buggy like a mum on a mission.
Two happy kids and one howling toddler later, we were off. Nothing says family fun day like negotiating with a tiny human before 10am.

Animal Encounters: Feeding Time (and Chaos)
First stop: feeding the animals. Feed bag in hand, my two eldest went full zookeeper mode while M continued his protest tour from the buggy.
Z took on the role of supervisor – delegating who to feed next and rationing pellets like it was wartime.
E just followed orders, cheerfully feeding every creature in sight, including one confused duck who probably wasn’t hungry anymore.
Even my grumpy toddler cracked a smile at the “birdies” (translation: ducks, chickens, pheasants, and one very sassy turkey). Honestly, watching them bond with the animals was beautiful… until a goat tried to eat my jacket. Motherhood in a nutshell.

Sheep Racing: You Herd It Here First
Then came the surprise of the day.. sheep racing. Yes, actual sheep racing. Picture it: crowds cheering, kids screaming, and me wondering if I should’ve placed a bet. Each child picked their racer – M had Fleece Lightning, E went with Lamborghini, and Z, of course, chose Ewesain Bolt.
I was cackling at the puns while my kids stared at me like, “Mummy’s lost it.” The energy? Pure chaos and joy.
Mini Pro Tip: I’m a sling mum at heart, but trust me – the buggy is your MVP here. Especially when you’re sprinting between sheep and snack stops.

The School of Witchcraft & Wizardry: Let the Magic Begin
I wasn’t ready for how creative this was! My kids haven’t been introduced to Harry Potter yet (I know, I know – don’t @ me), but they got the concept fast.
Cue “Squiditch” – Bluebell’s kid-friendly take on Quidditch. Z asked, “Mummy, what’s a Quidditch?” and I just said, “One day you’ll understand, my child,” mentally queuing the Harry Potter films for next weekend.
Then came broomstick training (10/10 commitment to pretending to fly), the pumpkin catapult (yes, that’s a real thing – pumpkins flying across the field like fruity comets), and the bottle smash game where the kids gleefully threw things and shouted, “AGAIN!” My childhood egg-throwing days flashed before my eyes… don’t judge, we’ve all been there.

Dairy Dash Race Track & Unicorn Races: My Cardio for the Week
Next up: the Dairy Dash. My big mistake? Thinking my kids could pedal. Spoiler.. they could not.
So there I was, pushing two kids in go-karts, pretending I wasn’t regretting all my life choices.
We finished with unicorn races, where every child named their unicorn “Unicorn.” Very creative. The parents exchanged the same tired smile – the universal “they’ll crash in the car later” look.
Meanwhile, M was still in his buggy strike phase, glaring like he was above it all but secretly loving every minute.
Mini Pro Tip: Be prepared for repeat requests. Just grab a coffee, wave like a royal, and let them race their sugar rush away.

Autumn Fun & Toasted Marshmallow Debacle
Things slowed down at the Autumn Fun zone.. sort of.
We toasted marshmallows over the fire, which turned into a battle of wills. “Mummy, it’s cooked!” “Sweetheart, it’s charcoal.” “No, I made it myself, it’s fine.” I’m convinced parenting is 40% negotiating with people under four feet tall.
Then came the Pumpkin Village – a photographer’s dream full of orange pumpkins, fairy lights, and enough cute backdrops to fill your camera roll. Cue the classic family photo attempt: one child blinking, one mid-sneeze, one running off – perfection.

Treats & Farewell Magic
We wrapped up with food and treats (thanks to the complimentary vouchers from Bluebell Dairy – the real MVP move).
After a full five hours of fun, we ended our day the only logical way.. with ice cream and milkshakes on a freezing autumn afternoon.
Don’t judge. You’re never too old for ice cream, and I’m all about breaking the rules one lactose-filled treat at a time.
Mini Pro Tip: When in doubt, bribery in the form of dairy treats works wonders.

Final Thoughts
Bluebell Dairy Farm’s School of Witchcraft & Wizardry was pure magic – a brilliant blend of hands-on fun, seasonal charm, and imaginative play. Perfect for kids who love animals, fantasy, or just a good old adventure (and parents who thrive on caffeine and chaos).
Huge thanks to the Bluebell team for making the day so special – from the sheep race hosts to the marshmallow monitors, you’re the real MVPs.
My kids are still talking about the toboggan-style ride they now think should go in our back garden.
